Thirty days, Thirty poems: Part Deux

Updated: May 9, 2021

National Poetry Month #NaPoWriMo #NaPoWriMo2021

What a month! For the last thirty days of April, and in celebration of NATIONAL POETRY MONTH, @joshacagan and @kayla_cagan_writer proposed a poem per day challenge based on Giallo Film Titles. Uncharacteristically impetuous, I accepted.

Before this challenge, and despite my son being a filmmaker, I had never heard of the Giallo film genre, but I'm really happy that I had the chance to brush up on my IMDB skills. I learned SO much from the brilliant screenwriter Josh A. Cagan's breakdown of the various titles upon which his lovely and talented wife, author Kayla Cagan, based her own daily poetry. Josh & Kayla are a dynamic duo any day of the week (or month of the year, for that matter). This joint-venture was no exception, unless you count my third- wheel membership of the Galavanting Giallo Poetry Movement.

Thank you, my dear West Coast Cagan Cousins, for including me on this adventure. This past month of looking forward to my homework, researching titles and writing my contribution provided a tangible daily goal, creative outlet and an opportunity to ground myself each day. Who knew? I may just continue on until I cover all 200-ish Giallo titles...

In the meantime, here are the last 14 poems (the first 16 were posted previously):

Art is art...don't judge me!
