Haikus by Hayley
("Haykus")
"I think in Haikus
Syllable count seven times
SyllablE Count Five"
@hayleykamis
I can't tell you why I think in syllables, but I do. There's something about the rhythm that just make sense to my brain. Maybe it has to do with my years of playing the piano from a young age - the music of it all feels good to my soul. Perhaps it has something to do with my love of alliteration, which makes my heart sing and drives my family nuts. Whatever it is, it comes naturally and brings me joy, so I'll keep on writing them, dammit.

What started out as silly observations expressed in a 5-7-5 syllable format to adorn the wipe-off board on my kitchen refrigerator has grown into what can best be described as an addiction. So, don't be surprised to see several images including said wipe-off board in the photos below...think of it as "method haiku-ing" (or Hayku'ing, as the case may be).
